Allergies and Special Diets
Uniontown Area School District is ‘nut free’ with respect to the growing number of peanut allergies. Each cafeteria has an allergy free zone to ensure a safe dining environment. Our cafeteria staff has been trained in safe food handling techniques with regards to allergies in order to ensure your child’s safety. All allergies and special diet needs must be documented as medically necessary on a physician signed PDE medical form available through the school nurse. This will be kept on file in each kitchen, with the school nurse and the office of the Food Service Director. Please remember that special diets are prepared based on necessity supported by medical documentation and not personal preference.
